The Capital Area Paralegal Association and District 4 of the State Bar of Texas – Paralegal Division invite you to join us at our upcoming Paralegal Day Celebration.

Anticipating over 100 attendees, this year’s event will be held on October 20th,  from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maggiano’s Little Italy located at 10910 Domain Drive, Austin, Texas 78758. 

 

Joining us as our Keynote Speaker will be Ellen Lockwood, Past President of the Paralegal Division. In addition, CAPA will be announcing its 2011 Paralegal of the Year Award Recipient.

 

The event will be a cocktail reception, and we will be serving hot hors d’oeuvres and dessert.  A cash bar and door prizes will also be provided.

About our Speaker
Ellen Lockwood, ACP, RP, received her Bachelor of Music (BM) degree from Southwestern University and her paralegal certificate from Southwestern Professional Institute in Houston.

She is a past president of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas.  She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Paralegal Division from 1995 to 1997 and 2001 to 2006.  She served as Treasurer of the Division from 1996 to 1997 and again from 2002 to 2004.  Ellen is Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee of the Division, a position she also held from 1997 to 2004.  Ellen is the lead author of the Paralegal Ethics Handbook published by West Legalworks.

She is also a past president of the Alamo Area Paralegal Association and a frequent speaker and writer on paralegal ethics and intellectual property.

Ellen has nineteen years of paralegal experience in intellectual property and civil litigation.  She is currently employed as the Intellectual Property Specialist for Clear Channel Communications, Inc.
