Travis County Expunction Expo

  • February 29, 2020
  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2938 East 13th Street, Austin, TX 78702

The Travis County District Clerk's Office, the District Attorney's Office and the County Attorney's Office are sponsoring an Expunction Clinic on Saturday February 29, 2020. The purpose of this clinic is to help Travis County residents apply to have their criminal arrest records expunged.

Paralegal volunteers are needed to assist with this as they are expecting to help around 300 people!

There will be two shifts (9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm).  They need volunteers for both shifts. Volunteers will be:

  • Interpreting;
  • Helping clients fill out Statements of Inability to Afford Payment of Court Costs (these will not need to be notarized);
  • Ushering clients to their meetings with attorney volunteers;
  • Helping walk-ins fill out applications for assistance; and
  • Rotating throughout 25+ rooms where attorneys will be meeting with clients to provide assistance as needed.

Here is an article from KVUE with more information about why the County is holding the expo:   https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/travis-county-expunction-expo/269-2353d202-6afa-4c90-a3a5-215c319fcde6
